Alternaria Tenuis IgG measures the level of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies in your blood that are directed against the mold Alternaria tenuis, now more commonly known as Alternaria alternata. These antibodies reflect your immune system's response to prolonged or repeated exposure to this mold.

Unlike IgE antibodies, which indicate immediate allergic sensitization, IgG antibodies develop over weeks to months of exposure and suggest a different type of immune reaction. Elevated levels are most relevant in evaluating hypersensitivity pneumonitis and assessing the degree of mold exposure.
